Casey grew up with several horses on a dairy farm in Zambia and has always been a believer that there is more to horses than just riding them. She believes in interacting with horses on the ground and spending time with them in their space, whether it is in their field or in the stables. From a young age every moment has contributed to learning about their behaviour. She sees horses to be our companions and has two horses of her own that have been two of her best teachers and continue to be, as every day with them is different.
Studying Equine Science, Complementary therapies and Natural Horsemanship and then continuing to do a BSc Hons in Equine Science at University, has helped her develop an in depth understanding of the anatomy and physiology of horses. She continues to build on her knowledge of horse behaviour and for Casey, Natural Horsemanship has always been the way to interact with horses. Having the chance to experience life on a horse Rescue and Rehabilitation centre in Indianna, America, alongside a Veterinarian, also gave her a variety of experiences and lessons that she draws on when interacting with the horses to this day.
She is EAGALA qualified (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) and has been involved in working with people with physical and mental health needs through the use of equine assisted activities. Promoting leadership skills and building confidence through these means have also been her passion.
